Unplug from the hustle of modern life with a heated yurt and outdoor hot tub! Our yurt is located in the pristine wilderness outside of the city light pollution where you can view the Aurora from an outdoor hot tub. Snacks, drinks, and warm food to keep you warm; winter fat tire biking, snowshoeing, and sledding activities to enjoy the frozen Alaskan wilderness while waiting for the Aurora to put on it's show. Yurt sleeps 6 if you need a quick nap :) It is considered a 'dry' yurt, meaning no running water and an outhouse for toilet facilities (although it is a heated outhouse, and for here that is real comfort!)

The space: Wildcat is a three story house on just under five acres. Southeast side facing on the side of the hill. Surrounded by forest and you cannot see any neighbors on the adjacent properties and rarely hear them. There is a dog kennel close by (within a quarter mile walk) that provide dog sledding services for tourists and they’re incredibly friendly and wonderful people. They mush all over in the backwoods and right off the historic Alyeska Pipeline. Hilltop Gas Station is right up the road on the Elliot Highway for an incredible experience eating at the diner there. Best pies in all of Alaska. It is a quiet, quaint and comfortable stay at Wildcat. There is a reason why I picked this place over all other properties in the Fairbanks Northstar Borough. I love it here and I’m sure you will too. Experience my lifestyle for a short or long stay. You will not be disappointed. Guest access: Restricted access is the garage, bedroom across from the guest bedroom you will be staying in and the master bedroom on the third floor. Everywhere else inside and outside is free game unless you come up to a locked structure. Other things to note: You will have access through a keypad on the door. It will be a four digit code. Please lock up every time you leave the property to secure the house and all belongings I own as well as your own. If you like to shoot a bow or firearms, you can do so on the property. It is not illegal, but do not kill any animals unless you possess a hunting license applicable to this state. All hunting requirements and regulations are to be followed. The Chatinika River is down the road on the Elliot Highway or a trip on an ATV down the Alyeska Pipeline (which is so much fun in the summer). Plenty of fishing done down there and ATV trails to ride on. Olness Pond is a great place to go to for rainbow trout and that’s near the Chatinika River. If available, my four wheeler can be used for riding around and enjoying the outdoors. Just bring it home in one piece. The Neighborhood: It is incredibly quiet and peaceful here. The only outside noise that is caused by humans is the highway from the haul road truckers coming up and down occasionally. Otherwise, all you hear is the beautiful sound of nature. The house sits on the southeast side of a hill and gets the most sunlight right over Pedro Dome and heats up everything in the early morning. Incredible view that spans many miles across the valley. Winters are gorgeous and the summers are even more gorgeous. The air is so fresh and clean in the winter time vs. the city of Fairbanks which has the worst air quality of all the United States. Respiratory issues are of no concern here unless there is a forest fire far away that is blowing smoke across the valley. Everywhere will be negatively effected by this. The vegetation surrounding the house is cleared out more than 30’ plus to mitigate any potential forest fire hazards for maximum protection. You are very safe. House Rules: Shoes off at the front door when roaming around the house. Dishes in dishwasher or by hand at the end of the stay please. Garage is off limits as well as the master bedroom and the adjacent bedroom. If you have dogs, please ensure they are within your control inside and outside of the house and any damage that is incurred will be charged accordingly. Animals are not to go on any piece of furniture. If you decide to cook, please clean up the kitchen and leave it in the same condition you found it in. Should you be a smoker (cigarettes, cigars, electronic, etc.), please do so outside and throw away the cigarette butts in the garbage bin. When leaving the property for any reason, please ensure that the front door is locked before departure on your adventures. Other Things to Acknowledge: Pet(s) live on property - Older female Akita dog names Desna. Amenity limitations - Food is limited, but will be identified for consumption by the guests. Recommend bringing food that is preferred. Must climb stairs. Surveillance or recording devices on property - Cameras on front door, garage door, front of house and driveway. All will be on and recording audio and video. Weapons on property - Firearms are secured in gun cases in personal spaces.

This property is just a 20 minute drive from Fairbanks International Airport. There are large rolling hills separating the property from the city so there is little light pollution for Aurora viewing. There are several restaurants nearby which also offer nightlife entertainment. There is opportunity for dog mushing tours, along with access and information to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. If you enjoy skiing Ski Land has the farthest north chairlift in North America. During the summer months you can visit Gold Dredge #8 and after panning, take home some of our famous Alaskan gold. There will also be google pin drop lists sent on check in day with local entertainment, night life, tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. You will have a beautiful 3 bedroom home with amazing views of the Aurora from the interior warmth of the bedrooms and living room. If you want an outdoor experience you can bundle up and walk the 14 cleared acres that the house sits on with large sky views or enjoy a dip in the hot tub under the painted sky. This property is off the grid and about 1/4 mile off the road. There is plenty of parking and the property is a short walk away. A 4-wheeler with a cargo trailer may be available at the cabin for hauling gear, ask the owner. Chena Hot Springs resort is 1/2 mile from the cabin parking lot, and can be accessed by car or foot on a scenic trail along Monument Creek. Please google Chena Hot Springs, Fairbanks, Alaska for further information on the resort. There are two cabins on the property. The main one (12 X 20) is on the creek and has an 8 X 8 screened porch off the kitchen and has a gas grill, an 8 X 12 sleeping loft with a queen bed, and a queen futon couch in the living area. Cabin includes full kitchen with a pitcher pump. Please bring block ice for the ice box in the summer months., there is also a small propane refrigerator on the porch in the summer. The cabin is heated with a wood stove ( plenty of fir e wood is provided), and a propane heater. There is also an outdoor fire pit by the creek. Bathroom facilities are a clean outhouse. Both cabins are wired for electricity and powered by two generators; the small one will run lights and chargers, and the big one will run anything else you might need. .The guest cabin is 8 X 12 with propane heat and a 2-burner Coleman stove. The bed is a single that pulls out to a queen. There are lots of trails in the area for hiking, skiing, 4-wheeling and snow machining. The Yukon Quest trail is 1/2 mile before the parking area and guests can walk on a trail parallel to the road. Fishing in the area is catch and release only. . .

This unique space can host a large group or an intimate gathering, with 6500 square feet, and a large outdoor space, there are lots of possibilities. Its grand staircase and vaulted ceilings will wow you. There are 2 gas fireplaces for guest's use, one in the den/bar room and the other in the main bedroom. The amazing house has two main suites, bunk beds , private double bedroom, a library guest room, a room with a queen and single bed. There is a family room with a private bar. We also have flex single beds that can be moved to any rooms. -We have 1 king bed, 4 queen beds, a bunk bed, a twin trundle bed, a twin bed and 4 movable twin beds. -There is one main suite with a tub and a shower, a family suite with two connected rooms sharing a bath with a shower, there is a hall bathroom with a tub shower combo that 2 of the upstairs bedrooms share and the library room on the main floor has a bathroom adjacent to it with a stand up shower. -There are also 2 half bathrooms on the main level. -There are a total of 6 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms. - The mansion has a great room, a den with a full private bar and a gas fireplace, a formal dinning room, a seating nook, chefs kitchen and a huge laundry room. -House was formally run as Pemberly bed and breakfast

Lovely, Alaskan yurt on 5 acres of meadow surrounded by birch and spruce forest. Big open skies for aurora viewing. The yurt is quite comfortable inside, has electricity and heated by a wood stove, but does not have running water. There is a house with a private bathroom nearby and an outhouse very close to the yurt. Just Short of Magic also has an active dog sledding kennel and tour business on the property. We serve a hot, homemade breakfast daily to all of our yurt guests.
